My brain hurts. So I’m going to talk about food. And if these things sound good–buy them and my other favorite products with my Amazon link on the right!!

1) Jessica’s Natural Foods Motor City Crunch Granola aka crack (in a good, happy way)

This stuff is amazing. Completely different from the super healthy (and amazing) Tasty Makes, and Jolly Oak. What is amazing to me is that this granola is actually NOT bad for you–even though it is chocolate hazelnut. With chocolate chunks. The texture is airy and crispy, not high in sugar, and gluten free. Find it, get it. Eat it. Put it on anything (within reason). Or buy it and send it to me.

2) Trader Joe’s Pumpkin O’s aka also crack


I may or may not buy multiple boxes of this to stash in my pantry. Lightly spiced, great texture, just enough sweet. When you run out of the granola, turn to this, it is the perfect counterpart! So addictive.

3) Jif Whips Whipped Peanut Butter & Pumpkin Pie Spice :: Limited Edition 15 oz

If peanut butter cookies, cookie butter, pumpkin pie, and butter cream got together and had a crazy 70s party, this would be the result. Oh my stars.  I am basically rationing it. It is that amazing. I have also hidden it from Alex. NO WHIPS FOR YOU. (Take that how you will)

4) Norm’s Farms Elderberry Blueberry Jam

Blueberry can be such a powerful flavor, and can instantly take over the show, but if you’ve ever had elderberry jam before, you know that when done well, it has a tartness that balances it out. Such is the case here. Highly recommend. And see what Erica has to say about their Wellness Syrup here!

5) Cracked Cookie Dough Nut Butter


High protein (11g), low sugar (<1g), no peanuts (made from pecans and almonds, with whey and coconut flakes and oil). If you are in the market for a premium nut butter that indeed tastes like a sugar cookie but treats your body like you had a protein shake, search this out. And then maybe use it on top of some of the protein cookies that Jenni of Fitzala rounded up and you can be like The Rock! #eatbigliftbiggetbig

Also, other flavors include: cinnamon roll, mocha, brownie, and cookie dought with chocolate chips. HECK yes.

Fall Spectacular Ice Cream Bowl


Edy’s Pumpkin Patch Ice Cream + Pumpkin Spice + Nut Butter (Preferably the Pumpkin Spice Whips) + Pumpkin O’s + Dang Toasted Coconut

Stuffed French Toast. I’ve been dreaming about this since I made it for Alex.

This time around: Multigrain Toast + (vanilla Greek yogurt + egg + cinnamon) + Crunchy Peanut Butter + Sliced Bananas topped with caramelized bananas + Maple Syrup (Preferably warmed) with Scrambled eggs + Parm

I can’t help but think, as I am enjoying my very tasty bowl of ice cream, curled up on my couch tonight, that I am so fortunate to have the life that I do. Beyond the love of my husband, family, and friends, beyond the blessings of being able to do what I love in both work and play, live in a great city, I am so thankful that I have the ability to provide myself and my family with one of life’s greatest necessities: food. Sure, yesterday I talked about how I was having to make a meal out of turkey jerky and Chinese take out, but I had the option to do that or to go and get something else, I merely chose to stay inside.

Why am I bringing this up?


This weekend, Women’s Health and Plan G are hosting a multi-city race series called Run10Feed10. Many of you are likely familiar with the concept, but in short, for every participant that signs up to run the 10k race, 10 meals will be distributed to those unable to obtain food on their own. I strongly urge you to consider doing this race–this is not just a race for bling, or glory, but a race for humanity. Erica of Erica Finds is running in a few cities and has put together a great info page as well as a Fundraising Page. Please contribute to her effort to help feed the hungry! Otherwise, visit the Crowdrise Page or even shop a charity boutique curated by Plan G.

Will you be joining and/or contributing to the Run10Feed10 mission? Remember, food banks are another great option–especially during the holidays, they need anything you can contribute. Think of how much a tasty meal brighten’s your day–help someone else capture that feeling!
