Design: Garmin Tactix Delta and Fenix 7
The first thing that the eye will see, is the design. Both watches have a similar design and at first glance, you might think they’re the same product. But if you look closely, you be able to see how different they actually are.
The most notable difference is the size of the watches. The Tactix Delta watch is roughly 51 mm wide while the Fenix 7 can be found in three sizes depending on your preference, and those are 42, 47, and 51 mm. This makes the Fenix 7 watch the one with the more size variations.
The Fenix 7 watch has more color options for you to choose from.
In the standard version it has:
- Silver with Whitestone Band
- Silver with Graphite Band
In the solar version it has the:
- Slate Gray with Black Band
- My personal favorite: Rose Gold with Light Sand Band
In the Saphire Solar edition it has:
- Black DLC Titanium with Black Band
- Carbon Gray DLC titanium with Black Band
- Mineral Blue Titanium with Whitestone Band
- Cream Gold Titanium with Light Sand Band
- Dark Bronze Titanium with Shale Gray Band
The Tactix Delta only comes in black.
Performance: Garmin Tactix Delta and Fenix 7
Both watches performed amazingly however; I did prefer the Fenix 7 watch as opposed to the Tactix Delta.
Differences and similarities
Firstly, when it comes to performance, let’s look at the things they have and do not have in common.
Have in common:
Both the Garmin Tactix Delta and Fenix 7 seem to be protected by a Gorilla Glass layer which will not harm the glass, making it resistant to scratches as well as making it fall-proof.
They can also track and count the number of steps you make, your heart rate, and your stress levels as well as the interesting feature of tracking women’s menstrual cycle, so nothing seems to have changed when it comes to the health and fitness aspects of the two watches.
Additionally, both have a built-in GPS to help you navigate through different locations, so getting lost will not be a problem that you will face with them. Both are waterproof.
Do not have in common:
As mentioned in the design section, the Tactix Delta has a bigger screen than the Fenix 7 one. This can come as a pro for people who have difficulty looking at smaller screens.
The Fenix 7 watch can answer and make calls. This function, unfortunately, does not exist on the Tactix Delta watch for some reason, however; it does make sense that it does not possess this feature since the Tactix Delta is an older model watch, so the upgrades were only given to the Fenix 7 one.

It’s been more than 15 years, and I’ve been running 3-4 times a week ever since then. I’ve achieved goals, won marathons, went through injuries and learnt a lot along the way. That’s why, I created Suzlyfe together with my husband (Ken) to share my findings and help others reach their goals. Both me and my husband are avid runners, and it’s a big part of our life.
