This weekend was filled with documentaries, food delivery, fitness, and the return of Alex to my life! Basically, it was a good one that I’m excited to share with you!
Food Deliveries Galore!
I never order takeout or delivery. The only time that Alex and I have ever done so was one time in our old apartment when we got sushi (I had a discount). We got sushi takeout again with some friends a few months ago. And that’s it. I never got takeout or delivery when I lived in New York, even! My family and I used to do it all the time, but when you live with such great options right outside, and you like to cook, take out/delivery isn’t that much of a draw.
Uber Eats might have ruined my track record. I decided to try something new (ordering food delivery by Uber) on Thursday, and it was so amazing and easy that I did it again Friday! Use code EATS-43bap for $5 off your first order!
Thursday night was Manee Thai.
I got a smattering of my favorites: Som Tam, Tom Yum, Vietnamese Spring Rolls, and Nam Sod (psst, have you tried my Nam Sod Sablefish?). I then proceeded to eat WAY too much of it and still had more for later during the weekend!
I also delved into some serious Netflix documentary watching. SO MANY NEW THINGS ADDED THIS WEEKEND! Over the course of the weekend, I watched all sorts of documentaries, from Secrets of Great British Castles (um, the host? #drool. The Castles? #nerddrool) to A Ballerina’s Life (Misty Copeland) to The first Monday in May (Met Costume Gala) and many more.
Friday morning, I had a hankering for oats, so I made a huge bowl of pumpkin egg white oats with pb and a drizzle of maple syrup.
I decided to get some more Uber Eats for lunch (I couldn’t help myself), but this time I ordered from Protein Bar. I regret to say that something happened to my pictures! But I ordered the Saigon Spring Salad (HOLY COW SO BIG), Korean Bibi-Q Bowl with chicken rather than beef, and a bowl of the veggie chili. I knew that this weekend would be a bit scattered, so I wanted things that would keep and that I could enjoy whenever! And after all of that? I decided to save them for later, lol.
Instead, I finished up my leftovers from the night before and saved my salad for dinner that night (I had the bowl for part 1 of lunch Saturday). A Luna protein bar later on that day held me over until I got to tuck into that awesomeness!
I then downed an entire pint of Arctic Zero Cake Batter. They sent me a sampler of their flavors, and, well, they really upped their game.
I remember when Arctic Zero first came out (when I was still in grad school)–and I thought it was rather terrible. Then a few years ago I tried a similar product and hated that. It was at IDEA World Fitness Convention this year that I tried Arctic Zero again and… I LOVED IT. Especially the Brownie Blast, which I bought on my own (you saw it on IG stories). I really liked the Pomegranate, which I wasn’t expecting! But the cake batter… yum.
I also may or may not have eaten half of the bag of these amazing things this weekend….
Alicia and I did a little blogger foodie exchange a few weeks back, and I finally opened up these magical orbs of love and goodwill. They are fantastic and even have a burnt marshmallow and graham cracker taste to them.
Saturday Workouts and Mess Ups
Saturday was a day of having Alex back in my life, working out (details to come on Friday!), food (of course), and fixing my own mess. I had a billing snafu at work that I had to undo. I hate it when I do stuff like that wrong, and it was actually really embarrassing for me to admit that I was wrong, that I messed up, and I tried to be professional about it. Luckily, it is mostly dealt with now (I have to finish fixing things today), but I really upset me. The cure? A hug from Alex and a workout with friends. (details on Friday)
The mental recovery was finished that evening with a date night at Basil Leaf and watching Zootopia 😀
Sunday, I had an early workout event (again, more to come on Friday!) and then I got the rest of the day to spend with Alex and our furbabies–including a trip to the dog park for Ridley! And a nap on the floor. Well, I napped on the floor, Ridley napped on me.
For dinner I made adobo chicken and delicata squash, as well as unpictured corn salsa and a chipotle lime crema. And a giant sweet potato. DELISH. I need to figure out how to get better lighting in my apartment, though… #bloggerproblems
Funny story–Alex and I ran out of a few things that we needed urgently (toilet paper, pet food, litter), so we went to Target. We decided to take Ridley for a walk, and one of us would go in and get the things while the other entertained her. I went in to Target, got distracted, and came out with everything that we needed for the animals… and nothing that had been on the list for us (and you know a few things that weren’t on the list). I get outside to Alex and Ridley (in the rain) and realized my blunder, so then ALEX had to go back in to get what we needed! #classic
This week is super exciting because a) it is the build up to the Chicago Marathon for my clients and friends, b) I am going to Virginia for one of my best friend’s weddings, c) there are some fun events that I am going to, and d) Alex’s last fellowship interview! What happens when @arcticzero and @ubereats deliver-->YUM #weekendrecap #fitfluential Click To Tweet
How often do you order takeout or delivery?
Who else makes lists and then forgets half of the things on them?
Thank you to Uber Eats and Arctic Zero for allowing me to try your products! All opinions are my own!
