Lyfe Thinking Out Loud

Thinking Out Liebster-Loud

A thank you to Ms. Amanda, our ever spoonful hostess.

A thank you to Ms. Amanda, our ever spoonful hostess.

I had no idea what I wanted to do about TOL this week, but thankfully my favorite Healthy Helper Kaila healthy-helper-ed me out and nominated me for a Liebster! I think that I may or may not still owe someone a response to their questions from a while back, but I loveeeeeed the randomness of these, so I thought that they would be perfect.

1. What was your favorite show as a middle schooler?

Oh goodness. I remember some of my faves from early high school, let me see if I can remember ones from middle school. Random but I loved Totally Spies  and Powerpuff Girls on Cartoon Network. I was obviously Clover.Totally Spies was like the grown up version of PPG. I was obviously the blond one in both situations. I also got into Alias in early high school. I liked fluff to unwind 😉 I also had friends that were really into anime and Sailor Moon. I actually used to do pretty good drawings in that style.

2. What season were you born in?

Spring. Rebirth. Blooms. The end of winter. Green everywhere. Warming weather. Rabbits getting their spring-fever on 😉  A bit of rain. OH WAIT I LIVE IN CHICAGO WHERE IT RAINS IN APRIL. We do have rabbits here, though (it is so random–they are in Millennium Park and also up by Northwestern). I’ve seen babies, but not the baby making, thankfully.

I love, adore, cherish spring. And there, is, to me, no place more beautiful than the East Coast, particularly Atlanta, during the month of May.

3. Which Disney princess did you want to be when you were little?

When I was really little, I would say maybe Sleeping Beauty because she was the prettiest. Then it was Jasmine. But really, I was Megara from Hercules through and through. I was even her for a date function in college and I would sing her songs allll them time.

4. If you could wake up tomorrow and be fluent in another language, which would you choose?

For practicality’s sake, Spanish. For my heart, French. To be hilarious, Finnish, so that I and one of my best friends could talk on and on and people would really have no effing clue what we were saying.

An amazing book full of knowledge

But really, I would love to be able to learn to speak any language. I took years and years of Latin (largely because I adored my teachers and my classmates), so I am very good at visual translation–like, I can read other languages and figure it out from there. But I have a TERRIBLE time understanding other languages, and sometimes English, even (I am not kidding–I get incredibly embarrassed). It has nothing to do with volume; things just sometime get garbled in my ears.

5. If you could only wear one color or pattern for the rest of your life, what would it be?

If it was under pain of death, I would say blue, but only if I could change shades. That goes for all colors. Pattern wise, if I am wearing it…. probably chevron. I’m big on geometrics. I also love damask.

6. What’s your least favorite fictional couple? Movies, tv shows, books, whatever medium you choose!

This question cracks me up. I would say that my least favorite fictional couple is the one that never found out what become of them because I turned it off/stopped reading. Oh. And the Melissa George-Michael Vartan coupling in Alias. That scarred me for life.

7. What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?

There are a few: You are so much like/remind me of your mother (I mean with regards to person, not appearance, not that she isn’t beautiful). My mom is one of the great lights of this world for me, to be compared to her in a positive light means the world to me.

You are perfect (Said by Alex). He was lying. No, he meant it, even though he knows better. As I said then, said at our rehearsal dinner, have said many times since: I’m not perfect. He isn’t perfect. By any means. But we are perfect. For each other. We are the right fit.

You deserve this, and I am so happy for you. You all have given me some of the greatest compliments I could have ever imagined receiving. I will never, ever take for granted what you have given me.

8. What is the most unusual food you’ve ever eaten?

I have attempted to eat a fish eye ball, but I couldn’t do it. I have a weird thing about eyes. I will eat octopus, but you could not pay me to eat a bug. I also hate lychees, in case you were wondering. I will not be eating tripe, either. OH, I have had blood sausage (morcilla) from the Purple Pig here in Chicago. We didn’t know that’s what morcilla was when we ordered it, and then it came and was definitely blood sausage. I will tell you what, though–it was delicious. Tasted like a reduced balsamic vinegar infused something.

9. If you had to lose one of the 5 senses, which would you choose and why?

Ha, I just posted about this. I am thankful for my senses, thank you. I don’t have any sense, so I’ve got to take what I’ve got. But, if I had to choose…. Nope. I love the feel of a summer breeze, the smell of dinner, the taste of a fresh peach, the sound of waves or music, and the sight of the sunset.

10. Name 3 blogs do you read on a daily basis!

I am not going to play favorites here. I would say that the blogs that I read on a daily basis are largely the people that comment on my own blog most days as well! We like each other. Or I have simply haunted their dreams sufficiently and they fear the repercussions. I’ll take either.

My brain is a bit scattered and all over the place at the moment, and I lovvvve Kaila’s questions, so I offer up her questions to you EXCEPT the Disney one. That’s too easy 🙂 I am going to try to spread the Liebster love soon, I promise.

Answer a question, and then tell me, in the spirit of Kaila, how have you spread the health or help recently? I brought popcorn on my first day, lol , and I cheered my heart out for Team Challenge this weekend!
