Driving and having a car in a major city can be a controversial topic. Last week, I wrote a post about how Alex and I are finding ourselves gravitating more and more towards medium-sized cities over the hustle and bustle of larger cities. Living in our neighborhood right in the center of “town” is fun and all, but one thing that anyone who lives in the center of Chicago (or other major cities) knows is that parking comes at a premium. And, unfortunately, due to my recent injury (and I went to the doctor yesterday), I might be needing to do more driving than typical.
Luckily, I have recently been introduced to a fantastic solution to the parking problem!
Chicago does have a pretty great public transportation system, and Alex and I do love going for walks and walking to dinner, etc. But you can’t beat the convenience of having a car. I think that we would do 100x the exploring if we were able to keep my car at our apartment. But when parking costs $240 a month, you look for alternatives. I am able to park my car at my work for free, so we put up with the walk over to it when we need to. But that means that the car is pretty much reserved for trips.
Another reason that we tend not to drive places? The parking once you get there is either nonexistent of $$$ as well. But sometimes, you don’t know that beforehand, so you are left driving around and around for 30 minutes.
Can you tell that this has happened to me before?
ParkWhiz Guaranteed Parking Booking to the Rescue!
A few weeks ago, I was contacted by the folks at ParkWhiz to test out their guaranteed pre-booked parking service.
How does ParkWhiz work?
ParkWhiz is so simple, even Zoe might be able to use it! For all of her important Meowzer business, you know. Here’s what you do to book your parking:
- Find your spot by going online or via the app (both Android and Apple).
- Compare options
- Book your spot.
- Park and move on!
ParkWhiz is set up for many major cities–for example, Chicago and New York City are ready to go with multiple search apparata to help you find better parking even more quickly–but you can search just about anywhere! See if ParkWhiz is in your city!
How can ParkWhiz revolutionize your day or night?
ParkWhiz Saves You TIME
Never get ready to go to an event and get scalped by parking guys again! With ParkWhiz, you can search for parking by address, around popular locations (like stadiums, etc), by upcoming major events–no one wants to have to leave 1.5 hours ahead of time to find parking for your favorite concert and then have to park 1 hr walk away. And when you get there? No one turns you away.
See those prices? That is for monthly parking near where I live. NO LIE I told you it was $$$
ParkWhiz Saves You MONEY
You can compare prices and attributes of the parking space! Is it pouring or snowing, meaning you want your car to be inside? Boom! This is especially important for monthly parking–find out if your car is going to be parked inside, who has access to the parking lot, etc.
Also, ParkWhiz has exclusive rates and discounts that can save you even more money. In fact, why not make this mutually beneficial?
Use this link to sign up at ParkWhiz, and you will automatically get $10 added to your account (and so will I!).
Next? Use code SUZLYFE for 10% off your parking!
ParkWhiz in Action!
This past weekend, two of my Chicago faves (and part of the reason I am glad that I will NOT be leaving anytime soon!) Erin and Beth and I attended the Go Blog Social Conference, and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to put ParkWhiz to the test. As I was at the office, I logged onto ParkWhiz and put the address of the Conference at City View Lofts.
There weren’t many options nearby, but that’s ok! I’m glad that I knew that ahead of time, and was able to lock in a spot regardless. I chose my spot, put in my discount code… and BAM parking secured! Not only that, but I have the option (as with all ParkWhiz transactions) to cancel right up to the time of the reservation.
I showed up to the lot, entered and showed the attendant my reservation, parked, and went on with my day. Having parking taken care of the entire day in a lot that I knew would have an attendant was priceless, particularly as rain was anticipated!
Thank you so much, ParkWhiz, for making my day so much easier. I was able to concentrate on networking and learning rather than running out to my car to load a meter.Pre-book guaranteed parking with @ParkWhiz (with 10% Discount!) #convenient #ad Click To Tweet
Do you find that you sometimes limit your activities because of parking?
How much would a service like ParkWhiz help your life? This would be especially helpful if you go to a lot of events!
