Meet Ridley! I’m obviously pretty enamored with my new pup, and I thought you all might like a chance to get to know her a little bit better!
Hi, I’m Ridley! I want to thank Amanda for hosting Thinking out Loud!
I am a 3 month old Blue Heeler Mix (Lab? Who knows!). At the moment I am about 15 lbs, but I probably will end up around 40-50 lbs. 40 lbs will be my racing weight 😀
Mom and Dad named me Ridley because it is a family name that they have liked for a long time and were actually going to name one of their kids; they just didn’t know that it would be a four-legged daughter instead of a two-legged daughter!
And in response to what many of you have asked, yes, I hope to become Mom and Dad’s running buddy! They didn’t know they were looking for a running buddy when they came in to look for a dog, but that is why I am extra awesome.
I’m pretty darn smart, actually. I’m already learning sit, stay, and down. And I’ve had a handful of accidents inside since moving in, but I’m already figuring it out and doing better and better. I actually hold it pretty well through the night, but when I’m awake, well, that is another story.
Speaking of the night, I am having a lot of fun keeping the entire apartment building awake as I serenade them when I am first put to bed, but after that, I pass out and am good until Mom comes in to take me out partway through the night.
I’m not big on rope toys, but I love a good squeak, and YAS to fancy rawhide type bones (so far I don’t like the cheap ones). And balls. I really like balls. And sticks. LOVE sticks.
Mostly though? I love to cuddle CUDDLE SO HARRRRRRRRD
Mom has a really comfy lap, btw.
I knew the moment that I walked toward Mom and Dad that they were the ones for me. I could tell that Mom knew as well, but Dad took convincing. He was worried about my sister Zoe. Zoe and I have only just met, but she is kind of keeping to herself at the moment and hanging out in Mom and Dad’s bedroom. I hope she wants to play someday.
Zoe can have Alex’s chest, I’ll take Mom’s lap.
I wish she would let me sleep there all night. BUT NO. I have to go in the stupid crate. I’m starting to like it more, but I’d still rather just hang out with Mom. She’s sleeping out in the room with me, anyway, so why can’t I just sleep with her?
OH and apparently I get to meet my Grandmom this weekend! Mom said her mom was coming to visit me and bring me PRESENNNTSSS
I hope I get a pony. Oh, wait, I’m scared of big things and some loud noises, so scratch that. I HOPE SHE BRINGS ME TREATS. And maybe a real bed. I don’t have one of those yet.
I’d also like another squeaky hedgehog, please.
I can’t wait until I grow up so I can go to dog parks and for runs and can hold my bladder for longer than an hour when I’m awake.I can't wait for more adventures from Ridley and Suz! #pets #puppy Click To Tweet
