Hey, sometimes, you just gotta go with 4-letter F words. AMIRIGHT???
This has been a really great week for the blog. From Fitfluential + giveaway to Wednesday’s super fun recipe and a bevy of new followers and readers, I’m feeling really ….I dunno…empowered? Satisfied? Content? None of those seem right—basically, I’m trying to say that I’m having a great time, I’m loving the feedback, the new responses, and I just am pretty darn pleased as punch that things are continuing in the forward direction. Pressure is on now, though… I guess I should be careful what I ask for! Thank you to everyone who reads, regardless of how much or for how long. It is an honor for me to speak with you each day.
Ok, right, onto all things fall.
So much to share with you that I am literally struggling to figure out how to pace it out! This was originally going to go up Wednesday, but then I got too excited about the Sweet and Savory Recovery Oats. So I took my own advice from Tuesday and re-arranged. Today, I thought that I would share some fun things that I have come across in the past few weeks that, along with this RIDICULOUSly below average weather, has led to me already purging my closet of summer. Which, let’s be honest, we didn’t really have here in the Midwest. It was all lies. LIES, I tell you!
Libations–Pumpkin Beers are back!
Granola for Days!
Jolly Oak Granola (especially S’mores). I love the Jolly Oak Granola (and you can win some with my latest giveaways!). It is no BS, just delicious, and pre-packaged, so you don’t have to worry about hoovering the entirety of the box (like I do). The flavors are allergy friendly (check out the site for more information) and check out my review here! Oh, and win it. Obvs.
TastyMakes Choco-coco Sprouted Granola is my current OBSESSION. I. am. obsessed. Seriously my favorite non-traditional granola ever. It is more seedy than oaty, and so I am going back and forth between it and the Jolly Oak. I don’t know what is going to happen when I run out. I will cry. Erica did an excellent review of the product as well as the other offerings, so please go check out her take on it, but I have to say, if you are looking for a change to something that is wholesome, textured, and lower sugar, you need to check out TastyMakes. You’ll be hearing more about this from me, believe me!
A few quick notes, because I know that you all are curious! The Dannon Caramel Apple Pie is actually lovely–it has pieces of apple in it and isn’t too sweet, which is what I was worried about. Love it. I quite liked the Chobani. I semi-froze it and topped it with sunbutter, pumpkin spice pizzelle (see below!), sprinkles, and extra pumpkin spice. DELICIOUS. The Yoplait pumpkin spice was super tasty, and it had been a while since I had bought a regular yogurt, but I wanted something different (and hadn’t found the others yet). MMMmmmmm! Loved them all!
I didn’t get the Downton Teas (mostly because I am working through a ton of others at the moment! And I have tried the Pumpkin Spice Chai before, (and did I mention there was a way you could, too?) and it is soooooo good. I love Rooibos, and I can’t wait to try the pumpkin spice! It smells amazeballs.
I also have pumpkin spice coffee, but I decided to chill out with my bad self 😉
I love pizzelle. It is an Italian waffle cookie, and traditional flavors are anise, vanilla, lemon, and chocolate. When I saw the pumpkin spice, I was like YESH. Sadly, it doesn’t really evoke anything pumpkin spice-y. But it is still delicious and I am making good progress on the box 😀 Perfect ice cream topper.
I know that many of you were curious about the coconut syrup, and I opted not to get it. Alex and I like pancakes and such, but we don’t have them often enough for me to get it, even if it was on clearance. That said, I’m sure it’s delicious!
Pocky. I love Pocky. I started back on a Pocky kick when we were on our honeymoon, and because I was in World Market, and on a roll, obviously it was going home with me. There was also a Matcha covered Pocky, but I’m not so much into that. If you like Matcha, though, check it out!
Wink. Amber introduced many of us to Wink, and I contacted the company to express my interest. They were so generous to send me a sample of their 5 flavors, and so I started on them the other day. It is essentially Arctic Zero, with some different flavors and a bit more attention to the ingredients (per my understanding). I think that it is a fabulous product for those that don’t have any other alternatives (and please remember, this is my take! I am not an Arctic Zero fan) and are lactose-, gluten-, etc sensitive, on very strict diets or vegan. That said, it just isn’t for me. I am fortunate enough to be able to enjoy lighter ice cream (though not premium), and especially right now, I need the calories during training. I have the luxury of being able to eat certain foods that others do or cannot, so I think for the time being, I will be sticking to them. Great product, but like coconut flour, it just isn’t my thing. Doesn’t mean you won’t love it!
