My eShakti Dress: Customizable and Affordable Fashion

So many of you had such nice things to say about my dress from Caitlin’s bridal shower that I thought I would tell you a bit about it! It is from Eshakti, a new to me company that reached out to me a few months ago and offered to let me try out one of their pieces. As soon as I saw the dress, I knew it was the piece that I wanted. At the time, I had no clue when I would wear it, though—um, a sleeveless dress? In Chicago? During the winter?

It should

It should

Then I realized that Caitlin’s shower would be the perfect opportunity!

caitlin heather suz pittsburgh

First impressions of the site and process:

They focus on Dresses, Tops, Skirts, and Events (even weddings!!), and they also have styles that they have curated to wear now/later, which I thought was a great idea.

eshakti customizable options

Your clothing is customizable. I could adjust the neckline, the length, sleeves, and you put in your height as well! And there are other customizable options, like pockets or no. But who doesn’t love a dress with pockets?!

eshakti customizable neckline

And they carry sizes from 0-36, so not only is there something for everyone, but everything is for everyone! Are you a really, really difficult cut? Send them your measurements, and they will take care of it for you!

And the price was spot on. I would liken style and price to line up with Mod Cloth, and Mod Cloth certainly doesn’t give you the option to customize! Lots of bohemian, retro modern, and contemporary cuts, patterns, and embellishments. Knits, chambray, florals, cotton voile, poplin… My eShakti dress choice:

eshakti olivia dress suzlyfe 2b

I was incredibly happy with the quality of the dress—oftentimes, when you are dealing with sites such as this, sometime quality really suffers. But the dress was lined, great fabric, cut well, great details (like hideaway zippers), and the customization took no extra time, though it can run a little more, typically $7.50.

eshakti olivia dress suzlyfe 4a

Size-wise, I was quite happy as well. The dress fit beautifully, where many are playing too much with “flattering” sizes (Gap, I’m looking at you!).

Some other styles that I have my eyes on:

Bottom line? I am so, so happy with my eShakti experience, and I will definitely be ordering from them again. Wearing that dress just makes me want spring even more!!

For new customers, right now they are offering a $30 gift card!

Pockets or no pockets?

How important is it for you to be able to customize your clothing affordably? Are you a tough shape or size to fit?

What should I wear to the wedding??? It’s mid April, but who knows what the temps will be…

I was provided the opportunity to try out eShakti. Their dress, my opinions. Linking up with Heather and Nicole to chat fashion and favorites!

Love the dress – and yes, POCKETS! Where else would I put my snack?!
I’m pretty sure every woman has some sort of trouble finding a certain type of clothes – for me, jeans are always too short, bikini tops too small, and the bottoms too big. NOT IDEAL! Thank goodness for mix and match! 😉

YES SNACKS. And phone. Ugh, jeans are especially impossible. Also, do you have the problem that bikini bottoms like to just head south in the water, regardless of fit?

I think it is really important to be able to customise clothes. Not everyone is made the same way and I know that I definitely have difficulty finding clothes that fit everywhere. This sounds like a great website!

It is so funny–Victorian era was all about tailoring, then the department store and mass production and lowered prices made that the standard, and not we are trying to find the middle ground!

Pockets in a dress are money. They are the best ever, and if I’m on the fence about a dress, having pockets can totally push me over the edge into buying. Unfortunately I just don’t have a clothing budget right now. Whomp whomp.

I loved that dress on you! I never heard if this site but it sounds amazing. I do shop modcloth fairly often for dresses Bc they are one if the only retailers that offer dresses short enough for me! (I’m practically a munchkin in stature) But I like that on this site I could pick any design and they could make it shorter. Incredible. I have a super special wedding out in Cali in Sept that I’m already dreaming about so I’m def going to check out the options here.
