All the Feelings Friday Five

This week, I’ve had all the feels, so I thought that I would distill them down into a All the Feelings Friday Five! You know what, as rough as bits of this week were, it was also really awesome.

As always, I want to focus on the good that is in my life, and so let’s do just that.

All the Feelings Friday

Today is All the Feelings Friday! How and what are you feeling today? See what I am feeling at

1) Thankful

I am so fortunate, blessed, lucky, whatever the word is that you want to say, to have incredible, incredible people in my life. And I am so thankful. As I said on my personal Facebook, Reason 072485072 that I love my husband: My ugly cry doesn’t send him running away but instead running towards me. I have a Mom who is willing to drop everything and come up to me (though I told her no, if only because we don’t have a place to put her!). And I have you incredible readers and friends to send your hugs and love and support to me. 

Thank you.

2) Excited

OUR KITCHEN NIGHTMARE IS ALMOST OVER! We have flooring, we have our office back, and we should have the last cabinet in by tonight. Then, we have to wait on a new water heater and plumbing, the reinstall of the counters…. and then we are back in our apartment like before. Suzflood2016 is (hopefully) soon to be a very, very unpleasant memory. I can’t wait to be back to normal. 

3) A Little Apprehensive, But Also Accepting

Tomorrow, Alex and I have our first races! His very first race, and my first race since last year. We will be running the Amita Fitness for America Sunset Marathon, 10k, and 5k tomorrow night out at Hoffman Estates. Let me know if you will be out there! Why am I apprehensive? Well, my SI Joint is still feeling a bit sticky, the projected heat index is (depending on who you look to) anywhere from 95-105. Either way you slice it, it is going to be very, very hot. I ran outside yesterday midmorning, and though I was indeed very hot, the biggest issue was the fact that my legs literally weren’t working. I felt like they weren’t even attached. 

With the heat and my physical whatevers, I am throwing any and all time goals straight out the window. This run is going to be about being smart and safe! And I might already have another race on the horizon (a 10k), and if you are local, there will be the chance for you to win your way in!

4) Very Very Full

With all of the stress of the past few months and looking forward to trying to start a family, I am feeling the need to change my diet to try to add some buffer weight and give myself the best chance of feeling and being as healthy as possible. So I am Marathon Eating without Marathon Training. I understand how to eat in that way; I’ve done it every summer for the past 3 years, so it won’t be a big change for me! So far, I’m adding a shake to my morning and evening routine (thanks to Blogfest swag), and let’s just say that I’m feeling full much of the time. But I know it is what I need to be doing for my future.

5) Accomplished

Yesterday, one of my clients posted on Facebook that I had changed the way she thought about her triceps and working them out. I have another client who wrote a testimonial that I had changed her life. I am thisclose to getting my pull up goal. I’ve stuck to my new diet even when I was feeling not hungry but knew I needed to get more in. I’m caught up with my comment responses (except for all the ones from yesterday). I’m being more social and open minded and flexible. I rebounded from and re-found my strength during a really hard time that rocked me to my core (thanks to my incredible support system!).

Life might be bumpy at times, but everyday, I hope that you realize that the good will ALWAYS outweigh the bad. ALWAYS. There is always something or someone to live for–and that includes yourself.
